In 1999, Hope Now For Youth was recognized nationally by receiving the Samaritan Award,
bringing with it the distinct honor of being the best small religious charity in America.

Samaritan Award History
The Samaritan Award was created to promote small religious charities that perform their activities without any government dollars. In 1988, the Scaife Foundation of Pennsylvania founded and funded American Compass, which in turn founded and funded the Samaritan Award. The American Compass, led by Executive Director David Kuo, bases its operation out of Washington D.C.
