In 1999, Hope Now For Youth was recognized
nationally by receiving the Samaritan Award, bringing with
it the distinct honor of being the best small religious charity in
America.
Samaritan
Award History
The Samaritan Award was created to promote small religious charities that
perform their activities without any government dollars. In 1988, the Scaife
Foundation of Pennsylvania founded and funded American Compass, which
in turn founded and funded the Samaritan Award. The American Compass, led
by Executive Director David Kuo, bases its operation out of Washington D.C.
