Chairman of the Board

Corey File has been on the board of Hope Now since 2012. His love for helping young men in need was modeled by his father before him. His father served on Hope Now’s Board of Directors for over 20 years.

Corey has extensive business experience and currently develops assisted living and memory care communities in the Western U.S. In his spare time, he is a successful Little League baseball coach.

He is married and has five beautiful children.

Skip Lynn
Board Member

Skip Lynn has served on the Hope Now Board for nearly 20 years. He is a Christ-follower who believes strongly in the mission of Hope Now: to find employment for young men seeking to get out of gangs, and to present them with the healing grace of Jesus Christ.

Skip is a 30 year executive in the Environmental Industrial field and a member of First Presbyterian Church of Fresno.

Franklin Spees
Board Member

Franklin Spees has over 15 years of diverse real estate and business experience as an attorney, small business owner, development consultant, city planner, and real estate broker.

Throughout his career he has demonstrated repeated success in both the private and public sectors by providing expert counsel and facilitation as a “creative problem solver” to maximize land, physical improvements, and uses of real property through development, transactions, entitlements, and drafting public policy.

Franklin is a licensed member of the California Bar Association and an accredited LEED, AP through the United States Green Building Council. He holds the designation of Certified California Residential Manager (CCRM) as a member of both the California and Fresno Apartment Associations. Franklin has advised and facilitated real estate transactions as a licensed real estate broker and as a member of the California and Fresno Association of Realtors.

Franklin is currently practicing law as a business and real estate attorney with Lawvex, Inc. in addition to other real estate ventures. Franklin is married to his wife Lisa and has three children.

Dr. Joseph Martin, DNP, CRNA
Board Member

Dr. Joseph Martin, DNP, CRNA, is the President and owner of Advanced Anesthesia, Incorporated. Dr. Martin also is the Assistant Program Director and associate faculty at National University’s Nurse Anesthesiology Program. He maintains an active clinical anesthesiology practice at local surgery centers and maintains hospital privileges at Saint Agnes Medical Center in the Department of Anesthesiology.

Dr. Martin received his Doctor of Nursing Practice in Anesthesiology at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. He completed his general, pediatric, obstetric and cardiovascular anesthesiology residency at Texas Health Southwest in Fort Worth, Texas. After graduation, he took a clinical faculty position at Texas Tech University’s Health Science Center. Shortly thereafter, he returned to his roots and moved back to Fresno, CA, where he set up his private clinical practice.

Dr. Martin is happily married with 2 young children. He is active in community service, his local church, and enjoys building relationships with those in his community. He loves to play golf and tennis with his family and travel internationally.

Skin Mead
Board Member

Skin Mead put himself through college in New York by playing the drums (slang: the skins) in a rock and roll band called, “Skinny and the Screamers”… thus, the nickname “Skin”. He graduated with a teaching credential in math, science, and business.

After teaching for 7 years, he became a real estate broker and proceeded to manage some of the largest real estate offices in Fresno. He successfully developed over thirty private limited partnerships investing in diversified Fresno real estate.

After reading “Gangs to Jobs” Skin became interested in the Hope Now program. He wrote and produced the full-length feature film “Finding Hope Now” – a story about how Fresno’s Hope Now non-profit came to be the ministry it is today.

Skin, and his wife Andrea, are members of Peoples Church. He looks forward to his time on Hope Now’s Board of Directors, and contributing to its future growth and vision.
